Chippendale is close to all of the major attractions of Sydney’s CBD including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, The Rocks and Circular Quay. History of Chippendale
Originally inhabited by the Gadigal Aboriginal people for thousands of years, Chippendale was first settled by Europeans in 1819 when William Chippendale took up a land grant of 95 acres. Chippendale subsequently sold the estate to Solomon Levey in 1821. Over the years, the suburb has housed a mixture of manufacturing, warehousing and residential buildings. Today, Chippendale is rapidly gentrifying with a large number of apartment complexes currently under construction.

Chippendale is located within easy walking distance to most parts of Sydney’s CBD. Bus services travel through the suburb and offer quick links to the northern CBD and surrounding suburbs. Chippendale sits close to Central railway station which is the main terminus for city, country and interstate rail lines.
